This book attempts to introduce science fiction studies to undergraduate students and young researchers and promises to acquaint them with a variety of creative expressions that this genre has produced. Additionally, it tries to give them a sense of the theoretical paradigms within which SF is located. The five SF short stories anthologized in this book, written by lsaac Asimov, Ursula K. Le Guin, Philip K. Dick, Ray Bradbury and JayantNarlikar illustrate narratives spun around prominent SF themes such as time travel, futurism, utopia, dystopia, alternate reality, global climate change, human and machine encounter etc. This section is followed by a collection of critical commentaries on the five anthologized stories which seek to address and investigate the form and content of these particular works of SF. Lastly, the book offers an Annexure section with a focus on other intriguing and contemporary currents in science fiction.
