\'Sociology\' for Class XI has been written strictly according to the new curriculum proposed by NCERT. This curriculum has been adopted as prescribed syllabus by CBSE, Delhi and Boards of other states in the country. Part I of the book \'Introducing Sociology\' includes topics like Society & Sociology, Basic Concepts, Social Institutions, Culture and Socialization and Research Methods etc. Part II of the book \'Understanding Society\' includes topics like Social Structure, Processes & Stratification, Social Change, Environment and Society and brief introduction of noted Western & Indian sociologists etc. All the topics of syllabus have been presented in lucid manner. The aim of this book is to introduce to students the basic concepts of Sociology and enable them to observe and interpret social life. As students go along this book they should be able to understand and analyze the changes happening in contemporary Indian Society.
